Common questions
What is medical acupuncture?
Medical acupuncture (also called dry needling) uses fine needles to target specific musculoskeletal trigger points and pain presentations. It is based on Western anatomical and physiological principles and is used specifically for pain, muscle tension and injury.
What does cupping therapy do?
Cupping uses gentle suction cups placed on the skin to release deep fascial tension, improve blood circulation and reduce muscle tightness. It can leave temporary circular marks on the skin that fade within a few days.
Can acupuncture help with skin disorders?
Medical acupuncture can support certain skin conditions by improving local circulation and reducing inflammation. It is most commonly used at Refine Clinic for musculoskeletal pain, but we can discuss your specific concerns at consultation.
