01
Initial Consultation & Patch Test
Your safety is our first priority. Before certain treatments can begin, a consultation and patch test is required.
- A patch test is mandatory at least 24 hours before your first laser hair removal or chemical peel appointment. This is a clinical requirement, not optional.
- We strongly recommend booking an Initial Consultation + Patch Test as a separate appointment before your first session. This visit allows us to understand your concerns and expected outcomes, assess your skin and hair type, review your medical history and any contraindications, and confirm you are a suitable candidate for treatment.
- For laser hair removal consultations, please attend without having shaved or waxed the treatment area so we can assess your hair type accurately. We may take before photographs of the area with your consent.
- The consultation fee is £15 for laser hair removal and £20 for chemical peels. This fee is not deducted from your treatment cost but ensures we can give your assessment the time and care it deserves.
- Following your consultation, we will discuss the number of sessions required, realistic outcomes, treatment intervals and a personalised aftercare plan.
02
Booking & Arrival
To make the most of your appointment and respect the time of other clients, please follow these guidelines.
- Please arrive on time for your appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened treatment time, with the full session fee still applicable.
- Complete your consultation and health questionnaire honestly and in full before your appointment. Incomplete or inaccurate information may affect your suitability for treatment.
- Inform us of any allergies, pregnancy, recent procedures, medications or relevant health conditions before every appointment — even if you have visited us before. Your health status can change between visits.
- Service availability, suitability and session duration may vary. Prices shown on our website are starting prices and may be subject to change. Please check the booking page for live availability and current pricing.
- We reserve the right to decline or postpone treatment if we have concerns about your suitability or safety on the day.
03
Cancellation & No-Show Policy
We understand that plans change. We ask for reasonable notice so we can offer your appointment to another client.
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before your appointment start time.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice are non-refundable.
- No-shows — where a client does not attend and does not contact us — are non-refundable.
- To cancel or reschedule, please contact us by phone or email as early as possible. We will always do our best to find an alternative time that works for you.
- Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in a deposit being required to secure future bookings.

Aftercare: Laser Hair Removal, Chemical Peels & Microneedling
Following these aftercare guidelines is essential for the best results and to avoid adverse reactions.
- Apply soothing gels, damp cotton pads or aloe vera to cool the area if any warmth or hot sensation remains after treatment. Do not apply ice directly to the skin — this can cause freezer burn.
- Apply moisturiser or aloe vera gel regularly — at least twice daily immediately after treatment — to prevent the skin from becoming too dry.
- Wear loose clothing to avoid friction on treated areas such as the bikini line, legs, arms, chest and abdomen.
- Avoid deodorants, make-up, aromatherapy oils and perfumed products for 24 hours before and after treatment.
- Avoid vigorous exercise for 12–24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid hot baths, showers and heat treatments — including saunas, steam rooms, heavily chlorinated swimming pools and hot tubs — for 24 hours.
- Avoid sun exposure on the treated area and always apply a high-factor sunscreen (SPF 30 minimum) after and between treatments.
- Stop using sun beds and fake tanning products on the treated area. Fake tan can be applied 48 hours after treatment, but must not be applied within 10–15 days before your next session.
- Do not wax, pluck or use any form of epilation on the treated area for three months before starting laser treatment, and throughout your course. Laser and IPL require hair to be in the follicle during treatment. If you wax or epilate during your course, you may need to wait three months before resuming. Shaving and trimming between sessions is fine.
- Contact the clinic immediately if you experience excessive blistering, crusting or swelling in the treated area.
05
Aftercare: Massage & Bodywork
To get the most from your massage or bodywork session, follow these simple guidelines.
- Drink plenty of water after your session to support the body's natural recovery processes.
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting or intense physical activity for 12–24 hours after deep tissue, sports or Ayurvedic massage.
- Some post-treatment muscle soreness is normal after deep tissue massage or Ayurveda Yoga Massage — particularly if it is your first session or if we worked on areas of significant tension. This typically resolves within 24–48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol for at least 12 hours after treatment.
- If you have had cupping therapy, temporary circular marks are normal and will fade over several days. Avoid friction on these areas.
- After Shirodhara or Ayurvedic oil treatments, allow time to rest and avoid rushing back into a demanding schedule. The effects of these treatments continue to develop for several hours.
- Follow any specific aftercare advice given by your practitioner at the end of your session.
06
Aftercare: Electrolysis & Skin Tag Removal
Electrolysis and skin tag removal require careful aftercare to support healing and prevent infection.
- Apply an antiseptic cream to the treated area and continue to do so for up to 10 days after skin tag removal.
- Avoid friction, swimming, gym activity and saunas for 7 days after skin tag removal.
- Keep the treated area clean and dry. Do not pick or scratch any scabbing that forms — allow it to heal naturally.
- Avoid sun exposure on the treated area during the healing period and apply SPF 30+ once healed.
- Any changing, bleeding, painful, irregular or uncertain skin lesion must be assessed by a GP or dermatologist before cosmetic removal. We will not proceed with treatment on any lesion that raises clinical concern.
07
Safety, Contraindications & Medical Disclosure
Some treatments are not suitable for everyone. Please read the following carefully and disclose all relevant information before booking.
- Cupping, dry needling, medical acupuncture and shockwave therapy are not suitable for everyone. You must disclose pregnancy, blood-thinning medication, bleeding disorders, implanted devices (including pacemakers), acute injury, active infection, cancer history or any significant medical condition before booking these treatments.
- Chemical peels are not suitable during pregnancy. Please inform us if you are pregnant or trying to conceive.
- Any skin lesion that is changing, bleeding, painful, irregular in shape or of uncertain nature must be assessed by a GP or dermatologist before any cosmetic treatment is performed on or near it.
- If you are taking any medication — including topical treatments, antibiotics, retinoids or blood thinners — please inform us before your appointment. Some medications affect treatment suitability and aftercare requirements.
- We reserve the right to decline treatment if we have any clinical concern about your safety or suitability on the day of your appointment.
- Our treatments are wellness and cosmetic services. They are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you experience new, severe, persistent or worsening symptoms, please seek medical advice rather than relying on a wellness treatment.
08
Privacy, Dignity & Discretion
Refine Clinic was founded on the principle that men deserve a space where they can seek aesthetic and wellness treatments without judgement.
- All appointments are conducted in fully private treatment rooms. No treatment is visible to other clients.
- Intimate area treatments — including laser hair removal, chemical peels, microneedling and facials for intimate areas — are performed with the same clinical professionalism as any other service. You will never be made to feel uncomfortable.
- Before and after photographs may be taken with your explicit consent only. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Your personal and medical information is held securely and in accordance with UK GDPR. It is used solely for the purpose of providing your treatment and will never be shared with third parties without your consent.
- If you have any concerns about your privacy or dignity at any point during your visit, please speak to your practitioner or contact us directly. We take all such concerns seriously.
