Using a triple-wave diode laser combining Alex 755nm, Diode 808nm and YAG 1064nm wavelengths, we target every hair type and skin tone with precision. The temperature-controlled ice barrier makes treatments comfortable, and most clients describe the sensation as minimal. Results build progressively: most men see a 70–80% reduction after six to eight sessions, with one or two annual top-ups maintaining a near-permanent result. Ayurveda Yoga Massage (AYM) is a unique floor-based bodywork treatment combining deep Ayurvedic massage, guided breathing and gentle yoga-style assisted stretches. Do I need a patch test before laser hair removal?
Yes — a patch test is mandatory at least 24 hours before your first laser hair removal or chemical peel session. We recommend booking an Initial Consultation + Patch Test (£15 for laser, £20 for peels) as a separate appointment. This lets us assess your skin and hair type, review your medical history and confirm you are a suitable candidate before any treatment begins.
How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
Most men see a 70–80% reduction in hair growth after 6–8 sessions. Hair grows in cycles, and laser is only effective during the active growth phase — which is why multiple sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart are necessary. After completing your course, one to three annual top-up sessions will maintain a near-permanent result. We discuss realistic expectations at your initial consultation.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as minimal. Our triple-wave diode laser uses a temperature-controlled ice barrier that cools the skin during treatment, making it comfortable for the vast majority of men. Sensitivity varies by area — the face and intimate areas tend to be more sensitive than the back or legs.
Is laser hair removal safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Our triple-wave laser combines three wavelengths — Alex 755nm for lighter hair, Diode 808nm for darker hair types, and YAG 1064nm specifically for darker skin tones where melanin absorption is lower. We select the appropriate wavelength at your consultation based on your skin and hair type.
What is the difference between laser and electrolysis?
Laser hair removal delivers long-term reduction for most hair types but is less effective on blonde, grey or red hair. Electrolysis is the only FDA-recognised method of permanent hair removal and works on every hair colour and skin type. Many clients complete a laser course and then use electrolysis to address any remaining resistant hairs. We can advise on the right approach at your consultation.
How should I prepare for a chemical peel?
A patch test and consultation (£20) must be completed at least 24 hours before your first peel. Avoid retinol, exfoliating acids and active skincare for 48 hours before your appointment. Do not shave the treatment area on the day. Avoid sun exposure and do not use fake tan for at least two weeks before treatment. Full preparation instructions are provided at your consultation.
What can microneedling treat?
Microneedling is effective for improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, minimising acne scarring, tightening enlarged pores and evening skin tone. We offer it for the face, back and — exclusively for male clients — the intimate area. A course of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results.
How do I choose between deep tissue and sports massage?

What is Shirodhara and what does it treat?
Shirodhara is an ancient Ayurvedic ritual in which a continuous, gentle stream of warm oil is poured across the forehead. It is one of the most profoundly calming treatments available and is particularly effective for stress, anxiety, ADHD, insomnia and nervous system dysregulation. It can be combined with Abhyanga full-body oil massage or our De-Stress massage for a complete mind-and-body reset.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice, and no-shows, are non-refundable. Please contact us as early as possible if your plans change — we will always do our best to accommodate you.
Is Refine Clinic exclusively for men?
The majority of our treatments are designed and marketed specifically for men. Some treatments — including electrolysis for face, armpits, arms and legs, and selected massage therapies — are available to all genders. Please contact us if you have a question about a specific treatment.
Are intimate area treatments genuinely discreet?
Absolutely. Discretion is a founding principle of Refine Clinic. All intimate area treatments — including laser hair removal, chemical peels, microneedling and facials for intimate areas — are performed in a fully private treatment room by experienced practitioners who treat these appointments with the same clinical professionalism as any other service. You will never be made to feel uncomfortable.
